Bridgedown House is located just off the A 6136Station Road. We are on a private road accessed from the swimming pool and station car park.
We have five guest rooms and aim to meet the needs of our guests. There are some features of our house that might make access difficult for people with limited mobility.
Our guest rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floor. We offer no ground floor rooms.
Pre- Arrival
- We have private parking to the front of the house for up to 4 cars, there is a public car park 30m from house which has some parking restrictions.
- Richmond town centre is a 5 minute walk.
- The nearest shops are only 600m away
- The nearest bus stop is 100m away, buses run regularly to Darlington.
- The railway station is 15 miles away in Darlington.
- There are several local taxi companies; we can make bookings in advance for you.
- You can contact us by phone or e-mail.
- We are happy to cater for special diets please advise before arrival.
Arrival
Arrival times - please advise us of your anticipated arrival time so that we can be sure we are here to welcome you.
Departure time is 10.00am.
On arrival guests are required to complete our registration form.
Main Entrance
Enter by the double doors, please ring bell on arrival
Guest accommodation – public areas
- From the hallway the lounge can be accessed which leads through to the breakfast area.
- Our bedrooms are laid out over the 1st, 2nd floors.
- We are completely non-smoking.
- All bedrooms are en-suite or offer private facilities.
- We have no public WC available.
- A fridge, microwave and iron are provided in the upstairs hall.
Lounge and Dining room
- Guests are welcome to use the guest lounge at any time.
- The lounge has two sofas, a selection magazines and books to read. A computer with internet access and a coffee table. Wi-Fi is available through the house, best signal is in the lounge.
- Breakfast is served in the breakfast area on the ground floor and is accessed from the lounge.
- We serve breakfast between 7.30am & 8.30am weekdays and 8.00am & 9.00am weekends.
- There are 2 tables seating 4 and 6 people, chairs are without arms.
- We have a highchair if required.
- The lounge & dining room are carpeted and centrally heated.
Bedrooms
- Our 5 guest bedrooms are carpeted throughout, non-slip vinyl has been laid in all the en-suite rooms and private bathroom.
- All rooms are centrally heated.
- There are 14 steps to the 1st floor landing
- All rooms are en-suite or have private facilities, a breakdown of these are provided below.
- Colour TV, hospitality tray with tea & coffee and biscuits are provided.
- We also provide hair dryers, guest soap, shower gel and towels.
- An extra blanket is available in all rooms.
- There is a wardrobe in all rooms
- There is a folder in each room which contains further information about the guesthouse and details of local amenities.
Additional information
- Fire extinguisher in the hall and on each landing.
- In the event of fire the fire alarm will activate and an alarm will be heard.
- Please advise us if you have a hearing impairment and might not hear this.
- The building can be evacuated via front or back door, please congregate In the public car park opposite for head count
Family room - en suite
Accessed from the 1st floor hall, this is our largest room. Fitted with a double bed and single bed. When used for 4 people this room is fitted with an additional single bed and can also be supplied with a travel cot. The en-suite has a large bath with widened end where a power shower and glass screen is fitted, a toilet and washbasin. The room has a 2 seat sofa, a chair and a wardrobe.
The room has the usual refinements of tea and coffee making facilities, bedside tables and reading lamps, TV, hair dryer, extra blanket, towels and central heating.
Double - private facilities
Accessed from the 1st floor hall. A double room where bathroom is opposite. Has a wardrobe, set of drawers, and a chair. The bathroom is large with a separate bath and large shower, washbasin and toilet.
The room has the usual refinements of tea and coffee making facilities, bedside tables and reading lamps, TV, hair dryer, extra blanket, towels and central heating.
Double - en suite
Accessed from the 1st floor hall. A spacious double with wardrobe, dresser, chairs. The newly built en-suite has a large shower, washbasin, toilet and heated towel rail.
The room has the usual refinements of tea and coffee making facilities, bedside tables and reading lamps, TV, hair dryer, extra blanket, towels and central heating.
Twin – en suite
Accessed from the 1st floor hall. A twin room with wardrobe drawers and chair. The newly built en-suite has a large shower, washbasin, toilet and heated towel rail.
The room has the usual refinements of tea and coffee making facilities, bedside tables and reading lamps, TV, hair dryer, extra blanket, towels and central heating.
